Do you remember the Guban shoes? The most comfortable shoes and with the smoothest skin, that were not standing in the hallway at the entrance, but in a box in the bedroom closet carefully wrapped in paper. I sampled these shoes in a mirror with my mother’s velvet dress, red lipstick and colored beads when she was away at work. History Guban shoes

Guban Blaziu founded in 1937 in Timisoara a chemical plant producing polish. This plant was donated to the Romanian state in 1952 and Guban Blaziu became the director for life. In 1959 began the production of footwear in handicraft system and in 1970 after construction of factory in Timisoara on Eroilor Avenue it started the industrial scale production of shoes.
In 1995, the company was privatized changing the name to GP & Company Timisoara. The factory has undergone a decline of irregularities and disputes throwing the company nearly in bankrupt.

Today

These shoes can be found hard because the factory produces 10 000 pairs / month with only 150 employees; before the Revolution 500 workers produced 30 000 pairs per month. Shoes can be found on Guban mark on the shelves in Bucharest, Iasi, Cluj, Timisoara, Craiova, Drobeta Turnu-Severin, Constanta, Brasov and Sibiu.
