Vinegar is one of the products that can and are used in various ways. The best vinegar is considered to be the apple cider vinegar, because of its flavor, concentration and unique properties. We list here only a few of the many uses of apple vinegar: it is effective against allergies, stomach cramps, against fever (by applying socks soaked in cold vinegar) or in the maintenance of the furniture, against limestone found on various surfaces, in cleaning windows and even bleaching and softening fabrics. Vinegar is also used in homemade creams and in hair treatment because it is good at removing dandruff and it also makes the hair glossy again- one of the positive effects of the vitamins in the vinegar. In nutrition the apple vinegar is used primarily as a preservative but it can be found in ketchup or mustard, here being responsible for improving the taste, or even in the preparation of sweets, where it replaces the citric acid.

This vinegar is one of the few that are suitable for all the uses mentioned above because of its fine flavor and balanced taste between sweet, bitter, salty and sour. This is one of the vinegars that are worth to be mentioned in the book of grandmother’s advices,  despite the fact that in Romania vinegar is also imported from Italy, Spain, Hungary, Bulgaria and Germany, especially balsamic vinegar (a  type of vinegar that has appeared only a few decades ago) or with different ingredients such as rosemary, thyme, etc. Unfortunately they are regarded by the public as being better just because of the sonority of their names. However, this vinegar, along with other Romanian products, proves that we are able, as a country, to put on the market high quality products.
